3 September 2018. Alice Fordyce from Christchurch is the winner of Tourism West Coast’s Pin and Win competition.
Tourism West Coast’s online Pin and Win competition ran from Monday 5 March – Friday 31 August. Entrants had to read through our six West Coast Icon profiles to find clues in the text as to where the $10,000 gold bar could be hidden in the region, before choosing coordinates and dropping their pin for a chance to win.
They also had an option to enter twice if they shared the competition on Facebook. Alice had the closest coordinates to the gold bar’s location on the West Coast.
The competition has been a success, with over 3,800 entries received.
Tourism West Coast CEO, Jim Little, says: “The campaign has attracted close to 4,000 entrants to research the 6 key icons via the website. Knowledge of the West Coast's attractions is increasing all the time.“
During the competition period https://pinandwin.nz received 40,575 pageviews.
The winner will be travelling to the Gold Room in Hokitika soon to claim her $10,000 gold bar prize from The Gold Room in Hokitika.
